MIDA - Fortezza da Basso, Florence
04.25.2025 - 05.01.2025
"Amphora", winner of the La Grande Bellezza Prize 2023-2024 at the International Exhibition of Crafts in Florence. Starhotels participates for the first time to the 89th International Exhibition of Crafts (MIDA), which for almost a century celebrates in Florence craftsmanship excellence, welcoming guests and curious people from all over the world. From 25 April to 1 May, the Fortezza da Basso becomes the ideal stage for immersing yourself in a journey made of creativity, in dialogue between tradition and technological frontiers of innovation, with an eye for the vision of young talents.
For this prestigious event, Starhotels brings to the exhibition "Amphora" by Cecilia Rinaldi, winner of the last edition of the biennial award La Grande Bellezza. Visitors will be able to admire the work in the evocative Hall of the Vault of the Monumental Districts, inside the section "CON•TE•NE•RE from object to body" promoted by Fondazione CR Firenze and realized by OMA, Associazione Osservatorio dei Mestieri d'Arte in collaboration with the Tuscan delegation of the Association for Industrial Design (ADI). The exhibition reveals the many facets of containment, from its practical usefulness to its symbolic meaning through a path that retraces the evolution of crafts and design objects.
"Amphora", with its enveloping shape, designed for the transport of liquids and its leather braid made with the particular technique Legàmi, fits perfectly in this context, becoming an ideal metaphor of the central theme of the exhibition. Class '92, Cecilia Rinaldi is a textile designer and artist, founder of Atelier Nuanda with a vision outside the confines of conventional design.
