The fourth edition of the “La Grande Bellezza” Award invites artisans residing and regularly working in Italy to apply by submitting works on the theme “The Beauty of Usefulness”, from September 14 to December 15, 2025.
The competition was created to enhance Italian talent and artisanal excellence, fostering dialogue between creativity, aesthetics, and functionality. Italy has always been a cradle of culture and craftsmanship, and the Award celebrates objects that, inspired by the nation’s traditions and materials, meet concrete needs through intelligent and elegant forms.
This year’s theme, “The Beauty of Usefulness”, calls for works in which aesthetics and utility merge harmoniously. The goal is not to replicate the past, but to reinterpret it in a contemporary way: functional, smart, and elegant products that enhance the guest experience while improving the efficiency of spaces.
Creations must be original, contemporary, and crafted entirely or predominantly by hand, in line with the standards of artisanal excellence. Works in any material or technique are eligible, including those already part of existing collections.
A prestigious jury, chaired by Starhotels and composed of experts in design, applied arts, and culture, will select ten finalists and award the winner a cash prize of €10,000.
